Services, support and resources from your Counseling team at Cottonwood High
Dear Students and Families,
First, we really miss seeing you all every day here on campus, and we are thinking of you. While school is in dismissal, we want to share with you some ways to stay connected with us, your teachers, yourself, and your support systems. We also want to share some ways to stay calm, stay healthy and stay engaged with your learning journey from afar.
Mental Health Resources:
For many of you, you may be experiencing a lot of big feelings and a sense of uncertainty. Having those feelings is normal. It is very important that we all take time to reduce our stress and worry by:
* Taking time to breathe slowly, with intention, to settle the nervous system
* Let go of what you can't control
* Practice gratitude and a positive attitude
* Allow your mind and body to rest and reset daily through mindfulness, yoga, art, music, exercise, etc..
* Limit exposure to the news and media
If you need to reach one of us, or talk to your counselor please send us an email. Our contact information is here.
We also want you to know that our School Social Worker, Alisa Webb is available to talk to ANY students that need someone to talk to. You can call her in the office at 385-646-1685 or email her at awebb2@graniteschools.org. She is eager to help students that may be having a difficult time.
If you have an urgent matter and need to speak with someone day or night, you can call Safe Utah at 833-372-3388 or using their online chat 24 hours a day/7 days a week, to speak with a licensed clinician. They can provide supportive or crisis counseling, suicide prevention and referral services to youth throughout Utah.
In addition, The Granite Education Foundation (385 - 646-KIDS) has kits available for students and families including:
* Hygiene Kits
* Dinner Kits
* Pantry Packs
