Monday Counselor Message: Important Information for all students!

Updated: May 4, 2020

The following message was emailed to parents/guardians today and contains very important information for all students, so please note that I’ve disseminated it by grade as well as info that pertains to all students.  Some may be repeat info but likely contains updates within.

All Students:

  • The deadline is Tuesday, May 5th, to register for an online class this summer.  All classes are a semester long – a student cannot take only a quarter of a class – and the cost is $60.  Applications can be downloaded and filled out at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MCDoC5K1pRfu_72pd2wcdB_5Kv7LJ_FA_w98U7K7G-s/edit Once completed, students can email it or hand-deliver to their counselor at Cottonwood High.  Again, students must do this before May 5th.

  • For students taking AP tests, it is crucial that you are prepared.  Teachers will be giving you this info, but we want to reiterate what they’re telling students:  Students must check their emails and take the Testing Demo today, May 4.  If you are not getting AP information now, you will not get it on test day and won’t receive your testing credential 2 days before the exam.  Please read through the materials and make yourselves aware of everything necessary for your own exams.  You have to be the experts of your own exams.  Students need to know that they are testing at the time listed in the Mountain Time Zone, no exceptions.  *Specific AP questions should be directed to AP teachers

  • Any questions regarding class fees, turning in books or emptying lockers need to be directed to the main office at 385-646-5264

Seniors – IMPORTANT

  • Caps and gowns will be handed out to ALL seniors this coming Wednesday, May 6th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the North parking lot.  Students and/or parents must stay in their cars and wear face masks for everyone’s safety.  Attached to this email is a detailed map and instructions for entering the parking lot and picking up caps and gowns.  Once in the parking lot, teachers, admin and counselors will direct traffic in a timely fashion.

  • An email from your student’s counselor will be coming home this week to the parent/guardian’s email we have on file.  That email will detail what credits your student needs to earn for graduation as well as instructing your student to take the senior survey and pay all fees and fines.  Please watch for this email and call your counselor if you haven’t received it by the end of the week.
